Monocacy Creek Watershed Association

The Monocacy Creek Watershed Association (MCWA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection, enhancement and stewardship of the Monocacy Creek and its watershed. A priceless haven for wildlife, the watershed drains 50 square miles in Lehigh and Northampton counties before reaching the Lehigh River in central Bethlehem. The PA Fish and Boat Commission has designated it a “wild trout stream,” with the second highest density of wild trout of any stream in PA—and it runs through a city of 80,000 people!

Protect

Enhance

Through stream-bank restoration, tree-planting and clean-up projects, MCWA volunteers work to keep the Monocacy Watershed beautiful and healthy.

Steward

MCWA volunteers help to educate the community about the importance of watersheds, monitor the health of the creek, support environmental study, and advocate for the creek with government authorities.
